Our olives

    La Nostrana di Brisighella

Nostrana di Brisighella is an olive variety native to our region, selected by growers over the centuries to adapt to the microclimate of our local area.

Specifically, this variety is adapted to temperate climates as it is highly resistant to cold winters.

In terms of its agricultural characteristics, Nostrana di Brisighella ripens late, with a high resistance to the cold.

The drupe (fruit) is large in size, slightly asymmetrical and with an umbo (point) that gives it its distinctive heart shape.

It produces a considerable amount of oil with a sensory profile characterised by tomato, botanical, artichoke and almond aromas. The fruitiness of the olive is noticeable when tasting the oil, both in the aroma and flavour. The palate usually displays hints of bitterness, piquantness and herbaceousness, revealing notes that recall artichoke, tomato and fresh almond.
